2025 Alvari Award to Cefmof

The 2025 Alvari Award has been granted to Cefmof. Despite its young age, Cefmof has already made a significant contribution (see our project) to the sustainable urban development of Jyväskylä and the Central Finland region. The foundation’s initiatives, especially in hydrogen utilization, have brought innovative and ecological solutions to the city, supporting Jyväskylä’s carbon neutrality goals.

Furthermore, Cefmof has increased awareness of the potential of hydrogen and sustainable development by organizing events and participating in international cooperation. The foundation has initiated a project to build Finland’s first hydrogen refueling station in Jyväskylä and is promoting the adoption of hydrogen buses in the city’s public transport system. Thanks to these actions, Jyväskylä is emerging as a pioneer in sustainable mobility.

The award was presented on behalf of Jyväskylä JCI and the City of Jyväskylä. According to the award criteria, it can be granted to an individual or organization that has significantly promoted Jyväskylä’s business environment and increased the city’s recognition both nationally and internationally. Previous Alvari Award recipients include, among others, Lauri Markkanen and Spinnova Oy.
