Hydrogen pizza oven directly from Paris to Ruusupuisto, Jyväskylä

Vetyä, valoa ja voimaa (“Hydrogen, Light & Power”) event, organized in collaboration with the City of Light, embodies the power and impact of both hydrogen and light. This two-day event brings a breath of fresh air to Jyväskylä with the versatile possibilities of hydrogen, sprinkled with the annual magic of the City of Light.

Hydrogen for All the Senses

The event revolves around a hydrogen pizza oven, Vihreä vetyvoima (“Green Hydrogen Power”) exhibition, a hydrogen rocket workshop, and an illuminated giant puppet named DUNDU. In addition, there is an opportunity to explore Toyota’s Mirai hydrogen car, showcasing hydrogen power in its most beautiful form.

For the first time in Finland, a hydrogen pizza oven from Paris will be featured, baking delicious hydrogen-cooked samples throughout the evening. Anyone can claim a slice of hydrogen pizza by participating in a fun, hydrogen-themed quiz. However, the number of samples is limited, so we recommend arriving early.

Instead of Paris, DUNDU arrives from Germany. This four-meter illuminated puppet has captivated audiences worldwide. DUNDU’s enchanting character evokes a sense of wonder and unity in both children and adults. It is said that the only thing bigger than this giant is its heart. And like hydrogen, there’s nothing to fear from this enormous figure—quite the opposite!

The hydrogen rocket workshop, held on Friday, demonstrates the power of hydrogen in a concrete way. In the workshop, hydrogen is produced by electrolysis: water is split into hydrogen and oxygen using electricity. The hydrogen is collected in a bottle, and a flame source is brought to the mouth of the bottle. Since hydrogen contains a lot of energy, it ”explodes” when ignited, launching the bottle like a rocket.

”Green Hydrogen Power” exhibition was launched at the Aalto2 Museum Center on July 31st and culminates in this event. The interactive exhibition highlights the potential and role of green hydrogen in Central Finland. This free exhibition broadens the understanding of hydrogen as a renewable energy source and even allows visitors to drive a remote-controlled hydrogen car.

Hydrogen: The Way to the Future

The power of green hydrogen is still a question mark for most of us. This event offers a chance to learn about hydrogen and its possibilities in a fun, clever, and educational way. The event is suitable for all those hungry for experience and new knowledge: youth, adults, families, and seniors alike. Vetyä valoa ja voimaa provides hydrogen for everyone and for all the senses!

The event will take place on Friday, September 27th, from 5:30 PM to 10:30 PM, and on Saturday, September 28th, from 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM. Due to limited parking space and to avoid congestion, we recommend arriving on foot or using the local Linkki public transportation.

More information will be published on the Facebook event page: Vetyä, valoa ja voimaa 2024.
