Hydrogen, Light & Power!

Cefmof invites you to experience hydrogen, light and power at Lutakko Square!

Hydrogen-powered light art, the Hydrogen Sauna Boat, a hydrogen-powered vehicle, a hydrogen oven, and hydrogen production and storage demonstrate how hydrogen can be part of our everyday lives.

01

Evanescent / Atelier Sisu (PE, AUS)

Atelier Sisu’s bubble-like Evanescent comes alive through light, inviting visitors to pause, marvel at the world around them and see their surroundings from a new perspective. The light artwork’s colour-reflecting surface creates a different view from every angle. The artwork will be on display throughout the City of Light festival. (Time: 25 September–3 October, 7–10 p.m).

02

Hydrogen oven

How does a free sausage or corn on the cob cooked in a hydrogen oven sound? Clean-burning hydrogen cooks the food without producing carbon dioxide emissions during use. The steady, intense heat of the hydrogen flame cooks the food quickly and keeps it succulent. As burning hydrogen produces only water vapour, the natural flavours of the ingredients can shine through. Please note: Come early if you would like a taste, as only a limited quantity of food is available. (Time: 25–27 September, 7–10 p.m.).

03

H2 Sauna Boat (on display)

Discover the potential of hydrogen in water transportation! The hydrogen-powered sauna raft is illuminated and on display along the harbor wall at Lutakonaukio.

The Hydrogen Sauna Boat uses replaceable hydrogen composite cylinders, which allow for the use of hydrogen without the need for a fixed hydrogen refueling infrastructure to be built at the port. Hydrogen is utilized in two ways: a fuel cell system converts it into electricity for the boat and its equipment, and hydrogen can also be used directly to heat the sauna and for grilling. (Time: 25–27 September, 7–10 p.m.).

04

Hydrogen production and storage

At the event, you can explore the entire hydrogen chain, from production and storage to its end use. Learn more about hydrogen and try lifting a portable hydrogen tank, for example!

Please arrive on foot or by public transport to help us avoid congestion. Parking nearby is limited. (Time: 25–27 September, 7–10 p.m.).

Check out the aftermovie from last year’s Hydrogen, light & power event! Please note that this year’s program is different from last year’s, so not all of the activities shown in the video will be part of this year’s event.
